Having been associated with the organization since its inception, I yet remember the energies that joined together to make it what it is. NYCS was established to assume the role of a catalyst helping the common youth of the nation attain employability and live a dignified life with financial independence.

The fundamental concept was to create opportunities for any and every one who has potential talent and the will to propel ahead in life. Going by this philosophy, as I look back I see the institution having grown into a big tree with multiple branches all nurtured with the same amount of passion and dedication to make the youth develop individually and economically as well.

The basic concept of a cooperative is to join hands together for individual benefits and development of society as a whole. NYCS stands tall for any and every person who needs to be backed, who has not yet found his footing or who wants any kind of help to surge ahead on his career path. Our strength comes from our commitment to reach to every such person at grass roots, rather than waiting for him / her to approach us. Our own network of district representatives in over 540 districts, help us in achieving this.

As an entity, we do not work in solitude. We look forward to associate with other organizations, NGOs, Government bodies, private companies – and all such stakeholders of the society who have a vision and plan to empower the youth in right direction.

NYCS India has often followed the teachings and philosophies of Pandit Deendayal Upadhyay ji. He had a clear vision for the growth and development of the society by collective and inclusive effort. A large population of our country still lives in poverty and in the clutches of unemployment. After having tried various development models with mixed results, he believed that we need an integrated and sustainable model of development and hence he proposed ‘Integral Humanism’ as an alternative model for development. Integral Humanism aims to provide a life of dignity to every human being while balancing the needs of individual with those of the society and countries. Integral Humanism extends democracy and freedom from being merely political to social and economic as well. It supports diversity by taking different approaches for different needs thus posing to be an ideal model for country like India with its unique history, diversity and cultural ethos.

Deen Dayalji believed that every individual, family and our society has a role to play in the development of our nation and thus every individual should get an opportunity to contribute towards the same. His philosophy of ‘Antyodaya’ aimed to provide a life of dignity to every human being at the lowest rung of the society economically or functionally. NYCS India has been working on the same principle to provide every possible opportunity to the ones who need it the most.

Veteran politician and academician Shyama Prasad Mukherji had once said, "Give me two Deendayals and I will completely change the face of the nation." Deen Dayal ji’s stature forever remains unmatched but NYCS India feels the spirit of that emotion and trust that our mission of empowering 10 million youths in the next five years following his footsteps will definitely change the face of our future generation and consequently the nation.
